SUMMARY:IS youth Championships *5.3 only
DESCRIPTION:Ballyholme Yacht Club will host the Irish Sailing Youth National Championships 2026 and welcome more than 200 of Ireland’s top young sailors for four days of high-quality racing. Taking place from 9 – 12th April\, the event is the pinnacle of junior and youth sailing in Ireland. \nSingle-handed fleets will include the Optimist\, ILCA 4\, ILCA 6\, and Topper 5.3\, while double-handed racing will see the 420\, 29er\, and the RS Feva\, which joins the championship as a new entrant for 2026. The addition of the Feva increases the number of two-person classes from two to three which creates more opportunities for sailors progressing through the youth pathway. \nSeveral important format improvements have also been introduced for this year’s event. For the first time\, both the ILCA 4 and Topper 5.3 fleets will compete over four days of racing\, moving away from the previous three day structure to align with the rest of the championship programme. To ensure the event remains accessible despite rising costs across the board\, entry fees have been kept at the same level for the third consecutive year.  \nStephen O’Shaughnessy of Irish Sailing said the organisation was delighted to return to Ballyholme Yacht Club\, citing its strong track record of running large\, successful regattas and its proven ability to deliver championships of the highest standard. \nThe event will be preceded by two days of multi class training on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th of April for a regatta warm up.  \nEntries for the 2026 Youth Nationals is now open by clicking on the link here. Irish Sailing > Events > Irish Sailing Youth National Championships

DESCRIPTION: ITCA World is delighted to announce that the International Topper World Championships 2026\, will be hosted by the La Société des Régates de Saint Pierre Quiberon (SRSP)\, at the l’Ecole Nationale de Voile et des Sports Nautique (ENVSN)\, Quiberon\, Brittany\, France. The Championships will be held from 25th-31st July\, 2026. \nThe racing will be run by the highly experienced team from the SRSP\, from the well-equipped venue of L’ENVSN – a French high-performance sport training centre and Olympic sailing base. The large\, enclosed site can accommodate more than 200 dinghies and has accommodation available on site\, as well as a large space for camping and campervans. The dates will be a week later than in 2025\, with the championships held from the 25th to the 31st July\, 2026. \n Entries are already flooding in as it is well known that Quiberon Bay is a paradise for dinghy sailing. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Donaghadee Sailing Club’s fun filled TOPPER SPRINT challenge.\nBack for 2026! (July 25 & 26th)\n(This event is not included in overall 2026 rankings.) \n\nENTRY NOW OPEN.    \nNot travelling to the Topper Worlds or UK Nationals???\nWhich means you’ve got an 8 week gap in your event calendar!!!\nSad times indeed.\nBut fear not\, Donaghadee Sailing Club has you covered.\nWe are hosting an event in the middle of that 8 week gap.\nBut let’s mix it up a little and have a SPRINT event. \nIt’s been a few years since we’ve been able to run this event for the Topper Class\, but we’re back for 2026 with a bang!\nSo come along to Donaghadee\, race in this fast paced\, full filled challenge. \nThe emphasis of the Topper SPRINT challenge at DSC is on a fun filled learning experience\, it is rather different to that of a normal traveller race day or weekend. It’s all about getting practise at starts\, mark rounding\, finishes\, making new friends & having fun\, so whether you are a seasoned racer or just starting out on your Topper journey this event is for you! \nDSC has hosted these SPRINT events in the past. (Just ask your older siblings how much fun they were.) On previous years we saw 90+ starts across the whole fleet\, with short\, close racing with the race area in Donaghadee Bay. This\, close to shore race area\, allows for spectacular viewing either from the clubhouse or the promenade. \nSaturday: Boats will be split into flights (mini fleets) of 5-6 topper sailors per fleet. Saturday will be a quickfire series of back-to-back races\, with a start signal and flag approximately every 3 minutes for a new race.\nThe individual race durations are planned to take between 10-15min to complete before you line up again for the next race. Meaning each participant will have around 10 short races over the whole day.\nSunday: The competitors will be once again be split/ranked into new Gold\, Silver & Bronze fleets (based on Saturdays results) for Sundays GRAND FINALS.\nThis ranking means\, everyone of all abilities will get a chance to win their category. It should be a good few days fun! \nIt is a great opportunity to try something new.  \nAn event where consistency is the key to success. \nNumbers will be limited and entries must be booked & paid for HERE.
